Tonight (Sunday 3rd August) sees the launch of a local anthology entitled 'Verses grow in our garden", collated, produced and named by Seema Gill of Uprise Arts notoriety. The anthology features a wonderful host of poets both local and national and even has an international sprinkling too. It's tastefully printed on A5 with a green cover and ring-bound in Death Star black, and is a decent size for only £3.
There are some mighty fine poets in the book - Kevin Wallace, Rob Gee and Joel Denno....and many more actually, and hopefully some will be performing their stuff tonight at the launch. I put in a brief appearance too, but the limelight belongs to the other talented artists who helped to bring it together.
Come down to Jasmine Cottage on Chaddesden Lane tonight for a relaxed soiree with coffee and biscuits and light entertainment. What a wonderful end to a mediocre Sunday. Here's the flyer:
