ALITA'S CURSE
(Profile views: 695)
Exploded onto the London circuit with a sell out show at Dingwalls in April supporting Hungarian stadium fillers Tankcsapda in front of a 700 strong crowd. Immediately followed that by sharing a bill with Radio 1 rock chart high flyers Imperial Vipers.
Released single "One For The Team" as a download which received airplay most prominently on TotalRock.com who took such a shine to it, Alita's Curse became regulars on the New World Order show - the DJ's have since offered festval dates to the boys.
Recently filmed for the Discovery Channel's new "Stephen Hawking's Universe" using feedback to explain his theories on time travel! Filmed at The Forum in Kentish Town it will be broadcast worldwide in 2010.
All of this since April with no deal, manager or booking agent.
Alita's Curse are pushing their luck. It seems to be paying off.
Artist Profile
It\'s a big but varied sound I guess - between the four of us there\'s influences from Guns N Roses, Kyuss, Foo Fighters, Jane\'s Addiction etc. It\'s rock but definitely with a catchy side to it, fun for all the family I suppose you could say!
Of course. It\'s a right of passage surely?
Sweat. Banter. Greasy solo\'s. Hair. The usual package with our little extras injected - come along to a show to find out the full effect.
Not recently no, although in a previous band I once had some fans litter the stage with ripped up porno mags whilst a sign from \"Jenny\'s freshly baked buns\" was displayed next to the bass amp. Good times!
Have to say The Dead Weather album has been a big hit, fantastic record.
Ultimately we\'d love to support greats like Foo\'s, Velvet Revolver, The Datsuns would be great gig to play for us too I think.
Lager. Always.
Download - it\'s our kind of crowd.
Be on tour with an album in the rock charts.
Tough question in todays industry, not many labels apart from the majors are worth being signed to, but there\'s loads out there we just don\'t know about. DIY is a big thing these days and we like the ethics of it, but a major deal would be an obvious temptation for us. Wait and see...
There\'s a certain gap needs filling - jard rock that\'s still accessible is only being done by bands like Nickleback and they aren\'t exactly today\'s grittiest rock band. I think we\'d be appreciated in todays rock world. Not in a big headed way, but realistically, we feel there is a place for us right now.
Rider?
No and yes.
Writing has become a more involved process for us. We also now have a producing duo we are working with on our debut album and we progress constantly with them and that transcends to our live shows.
Be as big and active as possible whilst keeping what we\'ve got in terms of drive and work ethic, and of course to keep it fun throughout.
We met via a mix of girlfriends and mates, guitar shop regulars etc. The usual tale!
Wouldn\'t you like to know... I can\'t really say If i\'m honest.
Long story, but \"Alita\" is the name of my first of thirteen pet Tarantula\'s, so that\'s how we came up with that. The \"Curse\" is from the original name idea of \"The Indigo Curse\" which comes from a story about some real life autistic children in a school near Roswell in the 50\'s.
1. It\'s always a full on energized show 2. We like to chat and laugh with anyone who\'s there. 3. We tend to give you things for free. 4. We always mix it up so there\'s something new or different or both every time. 5. Our bassist Stef is young free and single so we\'re looking to hook him up!
