 Spud, Dave, Alex and Chris grew up surrounded by the rolling hills of Derbyshire, with little else to do than climb trees and count sheep. They picked up some instruments, wrote some songs and 'High Child' was formed. Their music is inspired by the flare of 60s pop and the grit of 90s indie.

High Child is a truly independent band - writing, recording and producing everything themselves. They have produced 3 demo albums since 2003, which have collectively sold over 7,000 copies. Most of the CD sales came as a result of busking around the UK for a month or two each summer.

In 2008, High Child released its first official album, 'Yesterday Today', which is a compilation of the best songs from the demo CDs, together with some new material. The songs were re-recorded and mastered professionally, making them sound better than ever.
