2011 looks like it will be a significant year in the career of young singer song writer Lucy Ward
..
Since reaching the Finals of the BBC Young Folk Musician Awards (2009) Lucy's career has gone from strength to strength. 2010 saw Lucy playing at many of the top folk festivals including Priddy, Broadstairs and Shrewsbury where she wowed a capacity audience in the Sabrina tent. In addition to supporting many top folk artists such as Seth Lakeman, Nancy Kerr & James Fagin, Phil Beer and Dave Swarbrick, she has with the likes of Walthanstowe, Bromsgrove and Gainsborough begun to headline clubs and venues in her own right. The year ended with a national tour where she opened for the talented O'Hooley & Tidow. However, without a doubt, the highlight of the year came when Navigator Records signed Lucy and chose Stu Hannah (Megson) to produce Lucy's first studio album. The album is due for release in May 2011.
