How would you describe your sound and what are some of your influences?
I think I would describe it as minimalist post-punk? Our influences include The Horrors, Public Image Ltd. The sex pistols, siouxsie and the banshees, Joy Division, Wire, The stranglers, The Beatles, The Cure, Ian Dury and the Blockheads etc. but we don\'t see eye-to-eye on a couple of these bands.

If you were to pick one festival to play what would it be and why?
I think underage for two reasons; loads of very good bands have played there, and also because we aren\'t even 18 yet so it seems like the right thing to do.

Who would you like to support?
We quite often say how we would love to support the Horrors, but not in a creepy obsessive fan way, they are just amazing. The stranglers would be fun to support as well.

What’s your favourite album this year?
Primary Colours - The Horrors, that\'s my favorite new album. The best album I have discovered recently is three imaginary boys by the cure, but it isn\'t exactly new.

Any weird things happened to you at a gig?
Er well I fell asleep once and quite an old man in a band on stage hit on my friend who is the drummer in this band and quite a few decades younger than him.

What can people expect when coming to your gig?
We haven\'t done any!!! We nearly did, but cancelled as we then found out it was actually a pantomime where we had to write CINDERELLA-THEMED songs and play on a toy snare to the young and old. .

Have you ever been crowd surfing?
No I\'m too ticklish I would kick someone in the face by accident...

Give me 5 reasons why people should come and see you live?
If we ever become old enough to gig they should come and see us because they might like watching people mess up on their first gig by falling off the stage or poking themselves in the eye with a drum stick. Also, you can jump to some of our songs, I think. \'Barely Looking\' has a very jumpable beat.

Get rid of all top 40 music and replace it with GOOD songs. Also make Ke$ha\'s label drop her, please.

Mute, Or XL - Good Indie labels

How did you come up with your name?
Well basically we made a song called Screeching Vinyl, and then realized it would sound good as a band name. We don\'t have that song anymore though, it was a slightly sloppy amateur song.

What do you do in the real world?
That\'s a very broad question

How did you get together? (if you’re a group etc)
We were in a terrible band called \'Denial\', we kept splitting up and changing names and line-up, and now it\'s just a duo called Screeching Vinyl.

What’s the big game plan?
To make more songs, and then do pub gigs with another band we know, and then WHO KNOWS.

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
Well our first ever song was a \'rock\' cover of L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole. We were 13 and it sounded like crap emo rubbish!

Have you ever thrown a TV out a window? If not, would you like to?!
I have considered it, but no.

Er, not much. Just a way of getting the drum kit there. I also personally wouldn\'t mind buying a new guitar before doing gigs.
