Reading band theCOLOURS have recently supported national touring buzz bands The Wombats, Dan le sac Vs Sroobius Pip, Boy Kill Boy, Ida Maria and The Noisettes at various shows, but now the band are set for a mini-tour of their own.

The boys have been subject to a host of national and transatlantic recognition over the last month, having been mentioned as ones to watch on Huw Stephens Radio 1 show.  February also saw their track “Fallen Soldiers” play listed on US Radio Station KEDJ as it was named record of the week. Teen magazine Sugar also featured theCOLOURS on their website, drawing a frenzied response from besotted young female admirers.

theCOLOURS are currently working on their next single release due after the festival season, but in the mean time you can catch the band at the following shows:

2nd June - Jericho Tavern, Oxford
supporting ROSALITA

6th July - Guilfest 08 (andertons stage)

John Earls, Planet of Sound, Channel 4: 'Having wowed us a year ago with the funk of their 1st demo, they return with a whole new spectrum. Some might call it post-coldplay, but big old anthems like this will never go out of fashion. Especially when unlike their peers, its got a supple rhythm section - check out the Doves-y drums. Not just better than a Morning Runner, superior to most signed acts out there'

Next up were a much talked about band from Reading, The Colours. I was looking forward to catching them live for the first time. Last year saw them building up a fan base with constant gigging. They play big anthemic tunes. Tom Pickford does a great job on keys and vocals. Their excellent rhythm section only adds to the overall big sound they create as a three piece....... Their latest single, “Something New,” is available on i-tunes, HMV and Amazon. I fully expect them to be seen at several festivals this summer. - rock sellout
The-Mag, Southampton: The Colours have been causing quite a stir in the press recently … Whenever I see a band for the first time, there's a little hope somewhere inside that I will be blown away and fall in love with their sound, attitude, look, everything. On this night I had that blissful experience. If this band aren't on the national consciousness by the end of the year then I'll find an old hat and eat it. For full review see thecolours.co.uk
