Deltic finds Light at the End of the Tunnel
Nice to be back in the Border countryside. This is Abbotsford 4mm a personal attempt at a loft layout trying to capture the flavour of the long closed Waverley route line(1969). It has taken around 15 years to build with most of the structures and scenery being handbuilt. This North British styled line plays host to many engines + trains, and as seen in this footage even some diverted East Coast Main Line express and fish traffic. The whole concept of this video is set around the wonderful Stage Parades music track titled " Light at the End of the Tunnel" and Wolfbane Tunnel features in many of the shots. This dank damp place is in reallity the fiddle yard for this 4mm model railway. I have tried to use the captions to identify the various locos and hope you enjoy a trip back to the sixties when green diesels rubbed shoulders with the ageing steam stalwarts. Such wonderful trainspotting memories. Abbotsford will return.................

Stage Parades - Platform 7 (2012 Model Railway Edit)
Another chance to view days gone by, Here we find ourselves awaiting the 08.50hr off Edinburgh Waverley to Carlisle at the border town of Abbotsford. The train arrives pulled by one of Haymarket's new English Electric Type 4's. Whilst awaiting passengers a J39 from Carlise Canal Shed arrives with a stopping train and on shed we see two Clayton class locomotives ( infact the one of them is a Rolls Royce engined machine.) Our steed leaves and we stay to see the J39 pull away from platform 7? We rejoin our train as it dives into Wolfbane Tunnel. Now the fun begins as we view all the previous footage from the cab of the forty and even reach 60 m.p.h. Finally, we pass the Saturdays only FORD Halewood car train bringing new Anglia and Corsair motor cars to Scottish showrooms. I hope that nostalgic trip was worth the wait ...........Abbotsford will return.
